International Workshop on Low Temperature Physics
23 January 2014
Room228, 2F Social Science & Management Building
National Chung Hsing University, Taichung
A concurrent event of the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Physical Society of ROC (Taiwan)
|Objective of the Workshop|
To promote international activities as well as to foster global exchanges and possible collaborations, we organize this ¡§International Workshop on Low Temperature Physics¡¨ as a concurrent event of the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Physical Society of Republic of China (Taiwan). Several renowned overseas speakers from the Asia-Pacific Regions are invited to deliver lectures on their cutting-edge research endeavors. In addition, domestic speakers with close research interests are invited to give counterpart lectures. This forum also aims to provide an open and friendly platform to expose domestic postdoctors and graduate students to international scholars.
Three scientific topics of fundamental importance and current interest will be addressed in this Workshop, with specific focus on the electron transport in mesoscopic and nanoscale structures at (ultra)low temperatures. The three topics are (1) quantum solids and fluids, (2) graphene transport, and (3) topological insulator and low-dimensional electron gas transport.
As a concurrent event of the annual meeting of the physical society, this Workshop is foreseen to attract a large body of participants.
